The exhibition Callisto marks a new moment in Laura Wenmaekers’ artistic practice, in which the artist explores multiple dimensions of female identity. Her paintings reveal different emotional states and energies, presenting women as complex, versatile presences in a constant state of transformation.

Laura Wenmaekers (1994, France) is a painter and painting instructor at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where she graduated in 2020. During her studies, she learned academic methods and “discovered the value and beauty of using these tools to express myself the way I always wanted, through more realistic and sensitive images.”
