The 8th Petal by Duma is a new collector’s edition of the Collectable Art Catalogue series, published by Espaço Exibicionista Gallery. The book explores the conceptual foundations of The 8th Petal through text and images, drawing on the symbolism of the flower, the sword, and the warrior figure. The publication features reproductions of all the paintings and drawings presented in the exhibition, alongside studio photographs and reference images and texts related to the theme of the show.

Duma (b. 1973, Lisbon) studied Advertising at IADE and Drawing and Painting at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas-Artes in Lisbon. Since 1994, her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Singapore, and Australia. Her practice centres on the female figure, exploring themes of fragility, strength, mystery, and perception. Through compositions that balance intricate detail with strong contrasts, together with her recurring use of black cinematic bars, Duma creates open-ended narratives that leave space for the viewer’s imagination.
