Where’s North from Here, by Gary William Myatt, is a new collector’s edition published by Espaço Exibicionista Gallery, conceived as an intimate journey into the artist’s creative universe. Through the artist’s own texts, sketchbook images and preparatory studies, this volume offers insight into the conceptual and material development of the works. Studio views and images of emblematic pieces contextualize the artistic practice, revealing the methods, references, and decisions that shape each creation. This publication proposes a structured yet intimate perspective on the artist’s practice, mapping the evolution of ideas from initial thought to finished work.
Gary William Myatt (b. 1963, UK) is a figurative artist living and working in London. He studied at three of London’s most prestigious art schools: the Byam Shaw School of Art; Wimbledon School of Art, where he completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (Painting); and Central Saint Martins, where he undertook postgraduate study.
