PAUL NEBERRA

Paul Neberra é natural de Mainz (Alemanha), onde passou parte da sua infância, mudando-se com a família para Portugal ainda na década de 80. É entre o renascimento e o Barroco que podemos identificar a técnica e estilo pictórico de Neberra, uma corrente artística que se define como Pop Surrealismo e tem as suas origens no universo “LowBrow”.

Paul Neberra is from Mainz (Germany), where he spent part of his childhood, moving with his family to Portugal in the 80's. It's between the Renaissance and the Baroque that we can identify his pictorial technique and style of Neberra, an artistic current that defines itself as Pop Surrealism and has its origins in the “LowBrow” universe.

A proximidade turva o pensamento e nela se escondem as farsas do Homem.

Os artifícios e engenhos que peneiram a luz espalham veneno sobre a terra dos Deuses primordiais. As máquinas que se deslocam, barulhentas manifestam a falsa nobreza dos seus senhores. Entre as paredes edificadas está o covil dos abutres, esperançosos da fatalidade alheia das carcaças da alma que lhes servem de alimento.

Miserável existência que se enaltece do todo que é tão pouco ou nada. Criam amarras, forjam algemas com o intuito de dominar e reprimir, mas sobretudo são eles os vampiros deste mundo, sugando e usufruindo daquilo que é de todos e a ninguém pertence. A leve brisa, às vezes o vento, a chuva, as ondas a rolar na areia… a embater nas rochas, o cheiro a maresia traziam-lhe serenidade que brotava em clareza. Vigilante e esguia ali permaneceu durante dias, sem sucumbir às suas fraquezas, sem se deixar ferretear pelas víboras adornadas.

Além do mar a dor é perpétua. Além do céu a cegueira é eterna. Mas a vontade dos que são testemunhos da verdade é resiliente e não se deixa abalar por tempestades.

Proximity clouds thought and in it hide the farces of Man. The artifices and devices that sift the light spread poison over the land of the primordial Gods. The noisy, moving machines show the false nobility of their masters. Between the built walls is the den of vultures, hopeful of the fate of others of the carcasses of the soul that serve them as food.

Miserable existence that exalts itself from the whole that is so little or nothing. They create bonds, forge handcuffs in order to dominate and repress, but above all they are the vampires of this world, sucking and enjoying what belongs to everyone and belongs to no one. The light breeze, sometimes the wind, the rain, the waves rolling on the sand… hitting the rocks, the smell of the sea air brought him serenity that sprang up in clarity. Watchful and slender she remained there for days, not succumbing to her weaknesses, not allowing herself to be speared by the adorned vipers. Beyond the sea the pain is perpetual. Beyond the sky, blindness is eternal. But the will of those who are witnesses of the truth is resilient and is not shaken by storms.
