Nesta exposição o artista Martinho Dias recorre a diferentes momentos da História da Arte para intervir sobre obras de Vermeer, Rubens, Monet, Delacroix, Goya, Paula Rego ou Maurizio Cattelan, entre outros, recriando ou subvertendo os conceitos iniciais. No nosso dia a dia, sempre nos confrontamos com desafios que nos obrigam a tomar decisões cada vez mais acertadas. Para animar o desafio, os alvos tornaram-se mais móveis e as certezas mais incertas. A ordem estabelecida, ou adormecida, desmoronou-se como se um “Prestige” se afundasse no lago com nenúfares, de Monet.
In this exhibition, the artist Martinho Dias uses different moments in the History of Art to intervene on works by Vermeer, Rubens, Monet, Delacroix, Goya, Paula Rego or Maurizio Cattelan, among others, recreating or subverting the initial concepts. In our daily lives, we are always faced with challenges that force us to make increasingly correct decisions. To liven up the challenge, targets have become more mobile and certainties more uncertain. The established, or dormant, order collapsed as if a “Prestige” had sunk into Monet's pond with water lilies.

O mindset, perante arcaicos desafios que se nos apresentam, implica agora uma mudança mais coletiva na forma de pensar e de agir, tal como os pequenos anjos de Rubens são obrigados a deixar a pintura para se agarrarem às asas e rodas de um avião que parte de Cabul. Contudo, nem uma tempestade impediu o “Déjeuner”, nem os motores perturbaram as “Mulheres de Argel”.
The mindset, faced with the archaic challenges before us, now implies a more collective change in the way of thinking and acting, just as the little angels of Rubens are forced to leave the painting to cling to the wings and wheels of an airplane that departs from Kabul. However, neither a storm prevented the “Déjeuner”, nor the engines disturbed the “Les Femmes d'Alger".
