Em Ethereal Ground o escultor Eudald de Juana Gorriz reúne dois corpos de trabalho, separados e reconectados ao longo do tempo. A exposição apresenta-se como uma tensão entre o tangível e o intangível, um símbolo de um lugar onde corpo e espírito se tocam. Como o momento em que o pensamento se silencia. Nas palavras do artista "Por meio de minhas esculturas, procuro capturar a essência da condição humana, transmitindo uma sensação de introspeção, reflexão e delicadeza. Cada peça é uma exploração da fronteira entre o material e o espiritual, convidando o observador a refletir sobre a sua própria existência. Espero que esta exposição seja uma viagem através dessa fronteira e que as obras aqui apresentadas inspirem as pessoas a explorar os seus próprios pensamentos e emoções."

In Ethereal Ground the sculptor Eudald de Juana Gorriz brings together two bodies of work, separated and reconnected through time. The exhibition presents itself as a tension between the tangible and the intangible, a symbol of a place where body and spirit touch. Like the moment when thought falls into silence. In the artist words "Through my sculptures, I aim to capture the essence of the human condition, conveying a sense of introspection, reflection, and delicacy. Each piece is an exploration of the boundary between the material and the spiritual, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own existence. Eudald de Juana Gorriz nasceu em 1988, no seio de uma família de escultores, numa pequena cidade próxima a Girona (Espanha). Desde cedo, rodeado por um ambiente artístico e natural, aprendeu o ofício e desenvolveu um profundo interesse pela arte. Aos 19 anos, iniciou o seu estudo superior em Belas Artes na Universidade de Barcelona (UB). Após concluir a sua formação, em 2012, mudou-se para Florença, onde aprofundou os seus estudos académicos em escultura e desenho na Florence Academy of Art. Foi nesse contexto que consolidou o seu interesse pela representação naturalista da figura humana, inspirada na tradição das academias francesa e italiana do século XIX. Concluídos os estudos, tornou-se instrutor principal de escultura e desenho na própria Florence Academy of Art. Em 2018, decidiu regressar à sua cidade natal, Navata, próxima a Figueres (Espanha), onde fundou o Geode Art Space. Um espaço de criação artística integrado na natureza, pensado para si e para outros artistas. Eudald é um escultor figurativo, convicto de que o domínio técnico é essencial para expressar com precisão as suas ideias. As suas obras têm bases sólidas na tradição clássica, mas são marcadas por uma linguagem profundamente pessoal, sensível e emocional, que transporta o observador a um universo único, pleno de humanidade e imaginação. Eudald de Juana Gorriz was born in 1988 into a family of sculptors, in a small town near Girona, Spain. Surrounded from an early age by both artistic and natural environments, he learned the craft and developed a deep interest in art. At the age of 19, he began formal studies in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (UB). After graduating in 2012, he moved to Florence to focus on academic sculpture and drawing at the Florence Academy of Art. There, he deepened his passion for naturalistic representation of the human figure, inspired by the tradition of the 19th-century French and Italian academies. Up on completing his studies, he became a principal instructor of sculpture and drawing at the Florence Academy of Art. In 2018, he decided to return to his hometown, Navata, near Figueres (Spain), where he founded Geode Art Space. A creative space immersed in nature, designed for himself and other artists. Eudald is a figurative sculptor who believes that technical mastery is essential to fully express his ideas. His works are rooted in classical foundations but stand out through a deeply personal, sensitive, and emotional language that transports the viewer to a unique universe filled with humanity and imagination.
