Emanuel de Sousa comemora os seus 25 de carreira artística com a exposição Zeds Dead onde é apresentada a sua mais recente série de pinturas. Nas palavras do artista "Ter crescido nos anos 80 foi para mim como viver numa Máquina do Tempo: sem miúdos da minha idade por perto, a minha imaginação e a tv eram os meus companheiros. Depois de ver televisão, embrenhava-me nos meus mundos fantásticos, criava heróis, monstros, galáxias inteiras de narrativas onde eu fundia realidade com ficção. Passados 25 anos desde o meu começo na Pintura, estas aventuras tomaram corpo e ganharam vida. Esta série é uma homenagem  a essa época e à minha velha companheira, a televisão, a faísca por detrás das histórias, dos mundos de fantasia que moldaram a minha imaginação."

Emanuel de Sousa artist celebrates his 25-year artistic career with the exhibition Zeds Dead, where he presents his most recent series of paintings. In the artist's words "Growing up in the 80s for me was like living in a Time Machine: with no kids my age around, my imagination and the tv were my companions. After watching tv shows, I would jump into my fantastic worlds, I’d create heroes, beasts, entire galaxies full of narratives where I’d merge reality with fiction. After 25 years since the beginning of my painting career, these adventures became matured and became alive. This series is an homage to that period, and to my old companion, the tv, a spark behind these stories, these fantasy worlds that shaped my imagination."

Emanuel De Sousa vive e trabalha em Edimburgo, frequentou o Curso de Belas Artes do Instituto Superior de Arte e Design da Universidade da Madeira e obteve a Licenciatura em Artes Plásticas – Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (FBAUP). O seu trabalho integra diversas coleções públicas e privadas e tem sido maioritariamente apresentado na Europa e Estados Unidos da América através de exposições individuais, coletivas e feiras de arte. A sua obra já foi mencionada em diversas revistas e plataformas culturais. Emanuel De Sousa lives and works in Edinburgh, attended the Fine Arts Course at the Higher Institute of Art and Design at the University of Madeira and obtained a Degree in Fine Arts (Painting) at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP) . His work is represented in public and private collections and has been mostly presented in Europe and the United States of America through individual and collective exhibitions and also in art fairs. His work has been mentioned in several magazines and cultural platforms.
