PX Miranda, born in Chile and based in Italy since 1999, studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where she received several awards for her acclaimed oil paintings, and was later granted a scholarship to Davidson College. Drawing inspiration from history, literature, poetry, and music, her practice reflects a deep engagement with cultural memory and artistic tradition.
Miranda’s visual language is informed by medieval tapestry, Renaissance portraiture, the Arts and Crafts Movement, and the decorative designs of William Morris. These references are woven into richly layered compositions that evoke a timeless, almost enigmatic quality. Her paintings celebrate nature and beauty with conviction, seeking harmony between the forms created by humanity throughout history and those found in the natural world.
At the heart of her work lies a search for unity: a contemplation of the intrinsic beauty that connects all forms of existence. Through her paintings, Miranda invites viewers to reflect on the profound interconnectedness of the human, the natural, and the transcendent.
