Lei do menor esforço são desenhos muito pequeninos em folhas grandes.
Esforcei-me propositadamente muito pouco na concretização dos desenhos (1 hora por desenho). É o culminar de um pensamento que me acompanha desde os meus tempos de estudante universitário: gostava de ser o primeiro homem a descer para o Everest (de paraquedas imagino). Não podia correr o risco nesta exposição, que a crítica viesse a afirmar “ele podia ter-se esforçado menos” e então optei, no quadro maior, por aumentar apenas o tamanho da folha deixando o desenho ao centro igualmente pequenino. Por último optei mesmo por não fazer o desenho que tinha pensado: a ponta de um corno.
Law of minimum effort is composed by very small drawings in large sheets of paper.
I purposely made almost no effort to make these drawings (1 hour per drawing). It’s the culmination of a thought that’s been following me since I was a college student: I’d like to be the first man to descend to the Everest (with a parachute, I imagine). In this show I couldn’t risk the critics claiming “he could have made less of an effort”, so for the larger picture, I decided to only enlarge the sheet’s size, leaving the drawing in the center as small as the others. For the last picture I even decided not to do what I had in mind: “the tip of a horn”, which translated to english means “absolutely bugger all”.

De facto um tacho grande dá para fazer muito arroz mas também dá para fazer pouquinho. Porque é que eu hei-de encher o tacho? (questão.) As folhas de papel grandes, são
exactamente a mesma coisa. Querendo, posso fazer um desenho grande. São opções.
“Where you can fit a lot, you can fit a little”. Says my cousin when she talks about kitchen pots. In fact, you can cook a lot of rice in a large pot but you can also cook just a little. Why do I have to fill up the whole pot? (question.) Large sheets of paper are exactly the same thing. I can draw something big, if I want. It’s an option.
