Simone Benedetto was born in Turin in 1985, where he lives and works. He studied at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts before further developing his practice through formative experiences abroad, which shaped his understanding of art as a means of engaging with social issues. Working primarily in sculpture, Benedetto explores the contradictions of contemporary life through a critical observation of everyday reality. Drawing on themes such as childhood, play, conflict, and social change, his works invite reflection on the values and dynamics that shape modern society. In his Animal Soul series, hybrid human-animal figures symbolize processes of psychological transformation and personal growth. Through these evocative forms, Benedetto reflects on the authenticity of childhood—a state in which individuals remain closely connected to their inner selves, free from prejudice and convention.
