O Renascimento foi um período transformador da história europeia (XIV–XVII), marcado por um “renascer” após a Idade Média e pela redescoberta da arte, da filosofia e do pensamento da Grécia e de Roma antigas, reafirmando a centralidade do ser humano, da razão e do conhecimento. Vivemos hoje um tempo de profunda transição, marcado por uma crise existencial, pela fragmentação do conhecimento e por processos de desumanização, em que a tecnologia avança dissociada de uma ética humanista, valorizando a produção rápida em detrimento do pensamento profundo e transformando a arte em produto, em vez de espaço de reflexão. Nesta exposição, convidamos os artistas a refletir sobre o “renascer” do pensamento humanista no século XXI onde podem explorar livremente os diversos temas ou reinterpretar obras clássicas onde passado e presente se espelham.

The Renaissance was a transformative period in European history (14th–17th), marked by a “rebirth” after the Middle Ages and by the rediscovery of the art, philosophy, and thought of ancient Greece and Rome, reaffirming the centrality of the human being, reason, and knowledge. Today, we live in a time of profound transition, marked by an existential crisis, the fragmentation of knowledge, and processes of dehumanization, where technology advances detached from a humanist ethic, prioritizing rapid production over deep thinking and turning art into a product rather than a space for reflection. In this exhibition, we invite artists to reflect on the “rebirth” of humanist thought in the twenty-first century, where they are free to explore a variety of themes or reinterpreting classical works in which past and present mirror one another.
