Art for me, is a zone out of time and the mind. Art happens in the absence of the mind... in other words in the absence of resistance.
When detachment from thoughts happens, life as it is, can flow effortlessly and then something so real, that it cannot be described, can be revealed. Reality cannot be imagined ,it's not a thought ,it can only be pointed to ....and that's how I see art… pointers towards beingness itself, that we all share, where no separation exists.
Nas tuas pinturas existe um principio e um fim?

Tudo o que começa em algum ponto, deve terminar mais cedo ou mais tarde... Isto é: o que vem e vai. O que aparece, deve aparecer em ou dentro de alguma coisa, como uma pintura aparece numa tela... Não pode haver uma pintura sem uma base... ou escrita sem papel ou quadro, base, tela etc… É a realidade imóvel de uma pintura na qual ela aparece.
A minha mensagem é um convite para explorar a realidade que não vem e vai, na qual toda experiência surge... e ainda assim é intrinsecamente uma… com o que aparece.
Everything that begins in some point, must end sooner or later.. That is : What comes and goes. What appears, must appear on or in something, like a painting appears on a canvas. There cannot be a painting without a base...or writing without the paper or screen, base, canvas etc… Is the immovable reality of a painting, on which it appears.
My message is an invitation to explore that reality that doesn't come and go, on which every experience appears... and yet which is intrinsically one… with what appears.

O título ''Zone'' também pode ser interpretado como campo ou fonte. Ele aponta diretamente para o campo infinito de consciência. Não é uma experiência para uma pessoa, mas sim um sólido pano de fundo diante da ideia de pessoa. É como uma tela de uma pintura, na qual a pintura pode ser pintada e vista. É a compreensão repentina de que a mente ou subconsciente não é uma realidade definitiva. Esta é a mensagem principal desta exposição.
The title ''Zone'' could also be named as field or source. It points directly towards the infinite field of consciousness. It's not a experience for a person, but a solid background before the idea of a person. It's like a canvas of a painting ,on which the painting can be painted and seen. It's the sudden realization, that mind or subconscious mind is not an ultimate reality. This is the main message of this exhibition.

São aparências no mundo dos sonhos, às quais eu encerro tudo o que é percetível dentro da mente... mas eles não pertencem a mim, nem pertencem a ninguém. Eles não são pensamentos ou fantasias pessoais. Parecem não aparecer a ninguém.
They are appearances in the dream world , to which I enclose everything perceptible within the mind -space… but they don’t belong to me, nor do they belong to anybody else. They are not personal thoughts or fantasies. They seem to appear to no one.
Existem quadros teus, independentemente da dimensão, que demoram anos a serem terminados. Quando sentes que a pintura terminou?
There are paintings of yours, regardless of size, that take years to complete. When do you feel the painting is over?
Muitos dos meus trabalhos levam de 2 a 8 anos para serem concluídos. No entanto, uma pintura nunca deve estar pronta (apenas no sentido de que não seja retocada novamente). Minha intenção nunca é finalizar uma história, mas deixá-la aberta para novas descobertas.
Many of my works take from 2 - 8 years to complete. However, a painting should never be ready (only in terms ,that it is not been retouched again). My intention is never to finalize a story but leave it open for new discoveries.

Uma peça de arte é energia, e pode desencadear uma transferência energética.
Uma boa peça de arte pode fazer, às vezes, com que percas alguma coisa! Hahaaa… algo terrível para um indivíduo: um pensamento da identidade, um pensamento de "mim", ao desfocar a mente pensante. Arte é sobre perder algo. A grande arte é uma rara bênção desde que esteja apontando para a verdadeira realidade... Para além do espaço da mente. Rumo ao silêncio.
A piece of art is energy, and it may trigger an energetic shift .
A good piece of art can make you sometimes loose something! Hahaaa …terrible thing to an individual: the thought of identity, thought of ''me'', by defocusing the thinking mind. Art is about loosing something. Great art is a rare blessing since it’s pointing towards the true reality ….. beyond the mind space. Towards the silence.
Existe algum dialogo oculto? Is there a hidden dialogue?
Para mim tudo é um espelho; o processo da vida que nos mostra a nossa cara.
É como... "é fácil não ver as pessoas, o mundo e as coisas como elas são, mas sim como uma imagem, uma história criada pela mente"
O processo de pintura é muitas vezes um momento sagrado; exige imobilidade, uma mente aberta e constante vontade de estar lá para a arte. É nestes momentos de profunda compreensão, sem o processo de pensamento velando ele, que as respostas são crescentes, imagens e visões são formadas antes no meu olhar interior.
Do meu ponto de vista pessoal, é também nesses momentos que aprendo; nada é isolado, nenhuma entidade, nenhum acontecimento, nem os pensamentos; tudo são facetas da mesma consciência que está testemunhando o processo de criação.
For me everything is a mirror; process of life shows us our face.
It´s like... “it is easy not to see people, the world and things as they are, but rather as an image, a story created by the mind”
The painting process is often a sacred moment; it requires stillness, an open mind and constant willingness to be there for art. It is in these moments of deep understanding without the thinking process veiling it, that the answers are rising, pictures and views are formed before my inner eye.
From my personal standpoint it is also these moments that teaches me; nothing is isolated, no entity, no happening nor the thoughts; everything is facets of the same consciousness that is witnessing the process of creation.
