Sim, lutamos todos os dias pela nossa sobrevivência e pela sobrevivência dos nossos. Lutamos por uma vida melhor. Não temos garras de titânio nem superpoderes, mas temos determinação. E é isso que nos leva até ao nosso objetivo maior, mesmo que precisemos sacrificar este ou aquele desejo.
Em “We Gota Fight” cito explicitamente a linguagem Comics, num grafismo simbólico que pretende questionar as linhas divisórias entre a cultura elevada e a trivial, reinterpretando, de certo modo, uma estrutura pictórica preexistente, utilizando um reportório constituído por figuras de reconhecimento instantâneo, figuras essas que nos motivam e levam a pensar que seremos todos nós heróis.

And that is what leads us to our greatest goal, even if we need to sacrifice this or that desire. In “We Got a Fight” I explicitly mention the language Comics, in a symbolic graphic that intends to question the dividing lines between the elevated and the trivial culture, reinterpreting, in a way, a pre-existing pictorial structure, using a repertoire made up of figures of instant recognition , figures that motivate us and lead us to think that we will all be heroes.

Fiz o meu percurso académico na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (FBAUP), licenciando-me em Artes Plásticas – Pintura. Curso esse que me proporcionou a fascinante descoberta do universo da Pintura, através da introdução às técnicas básicas da Pintura a óleo e a acrílico. Com a orientação dos professores, tive oportunidade de desenvolver uma linguagem pictórica, no sentido de criar forma, atmosfera e luz, utilizando pinceladas, cores e texturas em composições variadas. A partir de exercícios de observação direta e recorrendo à interpretação de temas tradicionais da Pintura - Natureza-Morta, Paisagem e Retrato - abordei os conceitos indispensáveis da figuração: volume, proporções, profundidade, claro-escuro, bem como a mistura de cores e os valores expressivos da pincelada. Inicialmente o “estilo” Disney foi a melhor forma que encontrei para pôr tudo isto em prática, depois o processo foi evoluindo para estilos mais complexos sem nunca disfarçar as muitas inspirações desenhadas de forma não adulterada da própria Banda Desenhada.
I did my academic career at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP), graduating in Fine Arts - Painting. This course gave me the fascinating discovery of the universe of painting, through the introduction to the basic techniques of oil and acrylic painting. With the guidance of the teachers, I had the opportunity to develop a pictorial language, in the sense of creating form, atmosphere and light, using brush strokes, colors and textures in varied compositions. From direct observation exercises and the interpretation of traditional painting themes - Still Life, Landscape and Portrait - I approached the indispensable concepts of figuration: volume, proportions, depth, chiaroscuro, as well as the mixture of colors and colors. expressive brushstroke values. Initially the Disney "style" was the best way I found to put all this into practice, then the process evolved into more complex styles without ever disguising the many inspirations drawn in an unadulterated way from the Comics itself.

Um herói verdadeiro respeita o próximo, transmite felicidade, compartilha conhecimento, controla os seus pensamentos, dá valor aos momentos mais simples da vida… Ou seja, tem ações e pensamentos que contribuem para o dia a dia de todos e de si mesmo. É quem faz boas escolhas, quem age positivamente e corretamente. Porém no universo Comics, na História, na literatura, ou até mesmo na vida real, o antagonista do herói é o anti-herói, que se define por não ter características nobres e num ponto de vista racional não tem nada que chame a atenção. Na prática, alguns anti-heróis têm algo especial. Prova disso, é a atração pela figura de malvado, um personagem perverso e inclinado a fazer o mal, mas que pode ser um protagonista interessante por não possuir as virtudes tradicionalmente atribuídas aos heróis. Podem ter tido uma infância trágica, ou sofrerem o maior desgosto das suas vidas, ou apenas não quererem saber de mais nada. Tal como todos os protagonistas que são heróis. A diferença é que lidam com isso, não de forma heroica, mas... humana. E isso é o que mais me agrada.

In practice, some antiheroes have something special. Proof of this is the attraction for the evil person, a perverse character and inclined to do evil, but who can be an interesting protagonist for not having the virtues traditionally attributed to heroes. They may have had a tragic childhood, or suffer the greatest heartbreak of their lives, or just not want to know anything else. Like all protagonists who are heroes. The difference is that they deal with it, not heroically, but ... humanly. And that is what I like most.
